About the winery:
A true emblem of the Saint-Julien appellation, Chateau Leoville Barton represents the quintessence of the Medoc region through wines that shine bright with great consistency and class, guaranteed to satisfy even the most demanding Bordeaux lovers. This 2nd Grand Cru Classe (Second Classified Growth) of 1855 reflects the passion of the Barton family who has devoted themselves fully to this property, making it one of the flagships of the Left Bank and of the Saint-Julien appellation. In line with the saying that the greatest terroirs overlook the water, Chateau Leoville Barton presides over a 50-hectare vineyard located in the immediate vicinity of the Gironde River. The vines are planted in a soil of gravelly clay. The grape varieties planted in their vineyard reflect the typical Medoc style with mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (74%), complemented by 23% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc.
