Anne-Sophie PIC & Michel CHAPOUTIER Cornas 2014

Color: deep, black hue. Nose: very black, complex and slightly reductive on the nose. The wine shows notes of ripe, wild black fruit, which are then joined by notes of graphite, carbon and soot. Palate: massive on entry to the palate with tight, fine tannins and lovely mineral tautness. Overall, the wine gives a sensation of volume, is full-bodied on the palate, well-structured, meaty and crisp. This is a powerful, distinguished Cornas, which shows a great deal of balance and finesse.

THE STORY: The Pic and Chapoutier families have known each other for many years. They come from the same region of France, and share a passion for creating perfect pairings, matching the finest of dishes with the choicest of wines. An 'oenological' collaboration between Anne-Sophie Pic and Michel Chapoutier was therefore only a matter of time… It all started with one wine. From a few hectares of land, in Saint-Péray, owned by the Pic family. Michel Chapoutier gave this vineyard a new lease of life. The first joint wine was born.
