Domaine COSTE CAUMARTIN Saint Romain "Sous le Château"

Young, its pale yellow colour is brillant, glittering with green tints. On the nose, aromas of white flowers, acacia, yellow fruits and toasty notes are recognized. With maturity, honeyed notes and gingerbread aromas will appear. In the mouth, this St. Romain has a nice touch of minerality that brings him a nice freshness. Fat long and tender, it is nicely balanced with a harmonious finesse.

THE STORY: The Estate entered the family in 1793 by the marriage of Antoine Coste. The Coste family was well known for its activity as a master forge, which it developed at the industrial level for two centuries - until 1971 - with the manufacture in particular of stoves and stoves "Coste-Caumartin", well known in the great East of France. At the same time, she maintained the vineyard of the Domaine which extended in 1892 on the finishes of Pommard, Volnay and Givry. The reputation of the Domaine at that time was already very strong, with many medals won, including a gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900. The estate was passed on by the women: the families Coste, Debrois, Chenot, then Sordet followed one another so far.
