THE STORY: Founded in 1879 Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine is run by fifth generation winemaker Christine Dubreuil. The domaine owns 20 hectares of vines spread across some twenty appellations across the Cote de Beaune. The jewels in the crown are the impressive Corton Grand Cru holdings in both red and white vineyards. Vine age here is impressively old with most vines over 40 years. Picking is by hand and the grapes sorted on the table if required. The Pinot is completely destemmed then sees around five days of cold maceration before fermentation. New oak is used but is kept to about 35% for the Grand Crus. The whites are also traditionally produced with a mix of oak or stainless steel used, depending on the appellation.
