Wine Region: Rhone-Valley - France Grape: Syrah, Viognier
Tasting notes: "(...) the 2013 Côte Rôtie Bertholon is a big, serious, mouth-filling effort that packs a wallop of fruit in a rich, masculine, medium to full-bodied style. Possessing juicy acidity, notable tannin and a stacked mid-palate, with classic notes of iron, black currants, blackberries and black olive tapenade, it’s a beautiful wine that will keep for two decades." - Wine Advocate
About the winery: It was in 1997 that Stephane Ogier joined the family estate, rooted for seven generations on the hillsides of Ampuis. After studying viticulture and oenology in Beaune, Stephane left home to work with some of the best winemakers in Burgundy and abroad. By taking over from his father Michel, he chooses to do specific work on his different terroirs to reveal the uniqueness of these places full of history.
