Tasting notes: "The virtually perfect 2009 Cote Rotie Lancement Cote Blonde is stunningly perfumed with notes of black raspberries, blackberries, graphite, forest floor, tapenade and subtle smoke. Silky tannins, a phenomenal skyscraper-like mouthfeel and a sensational finish with light to moderate tannin suggest it will benefit from 2-4 more years of bottle age, and should drink well for two decades or more." - Wine Advocate
About the winery: It was in 1997 that Stephane Ogier joined the family estate, rooted for seven generations on the hillsides of Ampuis. After studying viticulture and oenology in Beaune, Stephane left home to work with some of the best winemakers in Burgundy and abroad. By taking over from his father Michel, he chooses to do specific work on his different terroirs to reveal the uniqueness of these places full of history.
