DOMAINE GUILLOT-BROUX
Guillot-Broux
The history of the Guillot-Broux estate began in 1954 when Pierre Guillot, a pioneering winemaker and advocate of organic farming, settled in Cruzille, Burgundy, just a few miles from Mâcon. His son, Jean-Gérard, gained experience in other vineyards, including Brouilly and Meursault, before founding the Guillot-Broux estate in 1978 with his wife. They returned to Cruzille, implementing traditional Burgundian techniques like single-vineyard vinification. Their passion for winemaking was passed on to their sons, Emmanuel and Patrice, who now manage the estate.

Emmanuel Guillot, drawn to the world of wine since childhood, earned a degree in biology and spent two years in London with his English wife, working at a Michelin-starred restaurant. This experience refined his palate and clarified his vision for winemaking. He joined his father at the estate in 2000, and today the estate spans 17 hectares, certified organic since 1991, across the Bourgogne, Mâcon Cruzille, and Mâcon Chardonnay appellations. While transitioning towards biodynamic practices, the estate is managed with a deep respect for the land and people. The domaine benefits from old vines in historic plots like Combettes, Geniévrières, Perrières, and Beaumont, with names that reflect centuries of human observation and expertise.
In the cellar, Emmanuel emphasizes minimal intervention, avoiding additives to preserve the true expression of the terroir. Although not producing natural wines, he aims to evoke strong emotions through his wines, ensuring they reflect their terroir and vintage authentically. White wines are crafted traditionally using native yeasts without settling, while red wines are adapted to climatic conditions. Emmanuel is also dedicated to restoring certain terroirs, such as Clos de la Mollepierre. The Guillot-Broux estate continues to honor its heritage while striving for future goals.
