ERGO SUM - GIACONDA
Michel Chapoutier & Rick Kinzbrunner
This Ergo Sum is the result of collaboration between Giaconda and Michel Chapoutier to develop great wines in Australia. The old vines are grown biodynamically on granite soil and aged eighteen months in French oak barrels. Nobly spicy, it is remarkable for its size.

Michel Chapoutier is well known for his mastery of the most exclusive Rhone valley appellations (Hermitage, St Joseph etc.). When Chapoutier set his sights abroad, Australia and Giaconda were a natural match. Giaconda has been described as "one of Victoria's most brilliant wineries" according to the Wine Advocate, while James Suckling describes Giaconda and Kizbrunner as the very best of Victoria. Robert Parker was not too shy with praise either, admiring their "hand-crafted, singular wines that are not only gorgeous to smell and taste but innovative."
