The domain “Les Bruyères” was created in the 18th century by the Marron family. Managed by David Reynaud since 2000, the Les Bruyères estate aims to produce great wines by working in the greatest harmony with nature. The 23 hectares are located in the center of the appellation Crozes-Hermitage and Saint- Joseph, in the North of the Rhône Valley.
The terroir is a mix of pebble stones that contribute to good drainage, on top of a clay-limestone bedrock that stores the water and provides optimal nutrition for the vines.

Certified organic and biodynamic agriculture, the estate favours cultivation by hand at each stage: disbudding, lifting, elimination of inter-hearts, harvest, sorting on the table ... These traditional methods, gentle on the fruit and not consuming fossil energy, are then relayed by gravity to the cellar by an elaborate system of tanks with natural shapes and materials. The red grapes are placed in a raw concrete vat room, which provides the oxygen necessary for alcoholic fermentation and good ageing, and the white grapes find their place in ovoid concrete and terracotta vats.

David is also a member of a group called “Le temps des copains” meaning “friends’ time”. Together these winemakers are crafting unique cuvées by sharing their grapes.

Galiena is proud to represent two other winemakers from the same association: Château Les Croisille from Cahors, and Domaine de L’Ecu from Loire Valley.
