Domaine Delaporte is situated in the small village of Chavignol, nestled in the heart of the Sancerre appellation. The roots of this family estate stretch back to the 17th century, with the tradition of passing down from father to son enduring through the generations. Since 2010, Matthieu Delaporte, the grandson of Vincent, has taken the helm of this esteemed estate.
The domaine feature 33 hectares of vineyards, predominantly planted with Sauvignon Blanc, which constitutes 75% of the vineyard, with the remaining area dedicated to Pinot Noir. Under Matthieu's leadership, there has been a modernization of the estate, introducing practices such as manual harvesting and a balanced organic approach, aimed at highlighting the unique personality of each terroir.

With 50 different plots, the terroir of the domain is highly diverse. Eighty percent of these plots face south, benefiting from exceptional exposure. Thirty-five percent of the vines grow in flint soil, which is quite rare in the region, while the remaining portion is situated in limestone soil, including "caillottes" and "terres blanches."

In terms of viticulture and vinification, there are no radical departures from tradition here; the focus remains on nurturing beautiful grapes and cherishing superb plots of land. The organic approach is applied judiciously, without any fanaticism, always enhancing the individual character of each terroir.

Grapes are harvested by hand and sorted at the vineyard into 12kg boxes to avoid grapes compaction. Impeccable hygiene practices reduce the need for sulfur. The harvest is introduced in whole, unpressed bunches into hydraulic presses (Coquard). The pressing is weak and slow to obtain a clear, premium quality juice. This juice is then put in different containers: new barrels, Wineglobe and also stoneware depending on the cuvée. It stays there from 12 to 18 months before being assembled and bottled without fining or filtration.

Precision, balance, and complexity are the hallmarks of all their cuvées, which fully express their terroirs through profound mineral notes, power, and a refreshing vitality.
