DEHOURS & FILS Champagne Extra Brut "Terre de Meunier" NV
Wine Region: Champagne - France
Grape: Pinot Meunier
Tasting notes: A low addition of reserve wine makes it pure and vibrant. The bouquet opens up with warm French baguette notes, balsamic, citrus, and grilled toasts. The palate is rich, pure, with lots of tension. The bubbles are silky and teasing all along.
About the winery:
Established four generations ago in Cerseuil, a small village on the southern slopes of the valley, the house managed by Jerome Dehours has diversified vintages and styles, from a very fragmented vineyard on both banks of the Marne. Its champagnes of character, mainly built around the miller, offer a balance of tasty juice while playing on the wire of a fine oxidation managed from winemaking in old barrels. The assemblages of the years are particularly well-conducted and the parcel Cuvees reveal a very beautiful definition. Since 1996, Jerome Dehours has given life back to his beautiful 14-hectare estate in the Marne Valley in Champagne. Inspired by the great Anselme Selosse, Jerome started with organically - grown vineyards by way of expressing each of the magnificent terroirs he has at hand. The Domaine predominantly produces Pinot Meunier, a varietal best suited to this cooler area of Champagne, but also Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
