Domaine POISOT Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2021

Wine Region: Burgundy - France

Grape
: Chardonnay

Tasting notes: Pale-gold when young and adorned with green reflections, the Corton-Charlemagne acquires amber and more yellow nuances with age. With infinite delicacy, its bouquet expresses, on buttery overtones, baked potatoes, citrus fruits, pineapple, linden tree, fern, juniper, cinnamon and flint. Honeyed tones occur frequently. Leather and truffle provide an escort for older vintages (up to 25 to 30 years). The glass and the palate are filled with a powerful breath. With virulent richness, the Chardonnay surprises here by its concentration, its distinction and its balance. Only rarely does the grace of the varietals establish such a close connection with the character of the land.

About the winery:
The Poisot Pere et Fils estate is the result of a long history of parentage. Coming from the same family as Louis Latour, the property was operated for a long time by tenant farming before being taken over in 1986 by Maurice Poisot. Concerned about maintaining the wine heritage and the quality of the grapes, the Poisot family expresses the complex nuances of the terroir through wines worthy of the best of Burgundy.
