HORSEPOWER "The Tribe Vineyard Syrah" 2016
Wine Region: Washington - USA
Grape: Syrah
Tasting notes: "The 2016 Syrah The Tribe Vineyard has complex aromas of peppercorn-crusted meat, iodine and smoke along with crushed violets and a wet river rock minerality. The wine is medium to full-bodied on the palate, showing soft tones of underbrush that add to the range of the expressions on the palate, later moving to a delicate stemmy note with a flutter of Sakura. The finish is thoughtful and complete, with good focus and balance. Only 525 cases produced." – Anthony Mueller, The Wine Advocate
About the winery:
Christophe Baron’s latest project, Horsepower, gets its name from the draft horses that work its vines. Such an idea isn’t new: horses have worked vines since the dawn of time. But Horsepower is the first estate in America to be farmed this way exclusively. Like Cayuse Vineyards, Horsepower is farmed according to an astrological sowing and planting calendar, and entirely without the use of herbicides, synthetic fertilizers, chemical insecticides or fungicides.
