STEPHANE OGIER Cote-Rotie "Bertholon" 2018
Wine Region: Rhone-Valley - France
Grape: Syrah, Viognier
Tasting notes: "Impressively elegant for this site—situated above Les Grandes Places and one I normally find more rugged in style—the 2018 Côte Rôtie Bertholon offers up hints of dried herbs, strawberries and raspberries on the nose. It's full-bodied and concentrated, but unusually silky and fine, with a long, lingering finish." - Joe Czerwinski, The Wine Advocate
About the winery:
It was in 1997 that Stephane Ogier joined the family estate, rooted for seven generations on the hillsides of Ampuis. After studying viticulture and oenology in Beaune, Stephane left home to work with some of the best winemakers in Burgundy and abroad. By taking over from his father, Michel, he chooses to do specific work on his different terroirs in order to reveal the uniqueness of these places full of history.
