STEPHANE OGIER

Stéphane Ogier

In 1997, Stéphane Ogier joined the family estate, rooted for seven generations on the slopes of Ampuis. By taking over from his father Michel, he chooses to do specific work on his different terroirs to reveal the uniqueness of these places full of history. Over the years, the estate has gone beyond the village's limits with the desire to discover and sublimate new terroirs. From his Burgundian experience, Stéphane Ogier retains the taste of elegance and finesse, which have become characteristic of his wines. The domain is spread over 27 hectares and produces about fifteen different cuvées.
It was in 1997 that Stéphane Ogier joined the family estate, rooted for seven generations on the slopes of Ampuis. By taking over from his father Michel, he chooses to do specific work on his different terroirs in order to reveal the uniqueness of these places full of history. Over the years, the estate has gone beyond the limits of the village with the desire to discover and sublimate new terroirs. From his experience in Burgundy, Stéphane Ogier retains the taste of elegance and finesse, which have become characteristic of his wines. The domain is spread over 27 hectares and produces about fifteen different cuvées.
The terroir is characterized by a Leucogneiss, Mica Schists and stony soils with a mild climate. These bring depth, smokiness and minerality to the wine.

Stéphane always thought that great wines begin with great work in the vineyard. With meticulous care of its soil, sometimes with the help of a horse, and with constant attention, his grapes are one of the best from Côte-Blonde and Côte-Brune, the 2 best terroirs of Côte-Rôtie.
